Coming 2024

Step Back Into History, In The Workplace of Tomorrow

In 1963, Northstar Center pioneered the concept of a “City Within A City”. As the birthplace of the Minneapolis Skyway system, and with its innovative mixed-use design and convenience, the property laid the groundwork for what a future workplace could be in a downtown business district. Northstar Center is now being reborn as an experiential, hospitality-forward, mixed-use ecosystem that is very different than the rest of the office space options in the Minneapolis CBD.

Minneapolis’ First Hospitality-Grade Office Building

Northstar Center lives at the intersection of hospitality and the workplace. The property became one of Minneapolis’ most beloved business and cultural centers by serving as the physical redefinition of how hospitality uses could be meaningfully integrated within an office environment. As it was in 1963, the introduction of elegant, anticipatory hospitality will be the hallmark of Northstar Center’s rebirth as an iconic asset.

A City-Within-A-City

Northstar Center is much more than an office building. With a uniquely robust, curated & coordinated ecosystem of uses, the property constitutes a ‘City-Within-A-City” and provides a 24/7 premium experience for office tenants, residents, hotel guests, diners, meetings & events attendees and the overall CBD business community.

325,000 SF Office Redevelopment

Northstar Center West will introduce 325,000 SF of completely renovated and reimagined office space to the Minneapolis CBD. Offered via large floorplate contiguous blocks of space, spec suites, and ‘Skybox’ corporate hospitality suites, the project will cater to users ranging from Fortune 500 companies to rising start-ups. Serviced by on-site hospitality operators, the office product will be unlike anything else offered in the Twin Cities.

218-Key Hotel Indigo

A newly reflagged and completely renovated 218-key Hotel Indigo opened on-site in 2022. The repositioned hotel features an expanded ~16,000 SF ground floor presence that includes a stunning lobby, Rotunda Bar, and two full-service restaurants. This complementary use enables office users to host colleagues and provides on-site sleeping rooms for meetings & events clients.

221 On-Site Residential Apartments

The Pillsbury Building, the 1916-vintage tower that has traditionally been used as office space, will be completely renovated and converted to a 221 key apartment project, featuring a robust amenity package, above-market on-site parking, and generously proportioned units. The project is expected to deliver in late 2024, and given its place within Northstar Center will provide a true live-work-play offering to residents.

A Meetings & Events Facility for The Entire CBD

With capacity for 350-person outdoor events and 250-person indoor events, a tech-enabled two-story conference facility, and a wide variety of meeting rooms and social spaces, Northstar Center will feature the largest, most elevated meetings & events product in Minnesota. Operated by a first class national hospitality operator, and fully integrated with an on-site culinary program, tech/AV support and production teams, this facility will be something truly new and impactful for the entire Minneapolis CBD.
